Back to School

Technically, we began our 2013-2014 school year back on August 5th. The next day, we all came down with a stomach flu. Purely coincidental. So the rest of that week and the following Monday was shot. So we actually didn’t finish our first full week of school until August 16th.

Since then, however, things have been pretty smooth sailing. We did agree to do a major overhaul in our curricula, instead of going with our original ideas from the end of last school year. We have now switched to the following:

Abeka for History & Science
Teaching Textbooks for Math
IEW for Writing & Grammar (blog post on this coming soon!)
Progeny Press study guides for Literature

We will still most likely be adding our Biblical Hebrew course, as well as a music appreciation course. My husband is an artist, so he handles that class.

We are pretty well settled, and things are going quite smoothly at this point. More posts to follow with specifics about each curriculum.

    • Aww, thanks so much! If I hadn’t been the first one to get ill, I might have thought the kids were just trying to pull one over on me in response to me starting them back to school. 😛 But boy, are we glad to be feeling better now!

  2. Nothing worse than the stomach flu! That must of been a very hard time for you and your family. Prayerfully the rest of the year will find you all in good health. ~Blessings~
